These issues were on and off for two days but have seemed to be "mostly" resolved as of last night. The issue impacted over 15,000 users. 

The root cause was identified as a service infrastructure issue in North America that disrupted traffic processing during maintenance, leading to elevated load and cascading failures.

There are reasons these nations do certain things. China and the US are and have been competing for power but it benefits both of them to work together even though this is the case.

I think it will have its place and will replace some people in certain jobs but it will be minimal replacement.

Maybe it is just me but why would any nation be relying on another nation for cyber security?

I think this deals with trade and keeping each other (nations) under control. If you look at trade agreements and reliance on other nations, it prevents war in many ways. This is probably similar.

That they are also considering following Australia and banning anyone under 16 from social media. I am not sure how this will fix any issues. Especially because crimes against children offline seem to be a more serious issue in the UK right now.

That seems like such a massive security risk to say the least. China spying on the US has been a longstanding things, we arrested people for it. Even recently! I am not sure why this is only being done now by them. 

I don't know if they will comply with this warning or not but I feel like this is something that shouldn't have ever been made possible to be on the table.

AI seems to be useful in certain sectors for certain services/jobs while being mostly useless in others. Humans will still be needed. I think it is worth getting some basic knowledge or education on AI systems though to be prepared.

So basically if you are in the bottom half in terms of IT capabilities, you do run the risk of being replaced. At least that is what I gathered from this report.
