The UK government has launched a new Cyber Growth Action Plan aimed at "supercharging" the nation's cyber security sector, a rapidly growing industry that now generates £13.2 billion in annual revenues and supports more than 67,000 jobs across the country.
So the UK is making moves to improve and grow their cyber security efforts which I think is important. I think the future of war and country disputes will be handled over the internet and if your government, businesses, or country as a whole are vulnerable - it can spell for disaster.
Do you think this is something all countries should be focused on right now?
The fact that one of their military bases was broken into and a jet was vandalized shows me that they need better hard security measures as well. I think it is a good idea for them to invest in cyber security though. Hackers are only gaining more ground thanks to AI.
I don't even remember hearing about this. This is a massive mistake. I mean, what if they became so incompetent that a low-level hacker could access data or worse that the government is meant to be protecting!?
I think it is worth tacking onto this. That they are also considering following Australia and banning anyone under 16 from social media. I am not sure how this will fix any issues. Especially because crimes against children offline seem to be a more serious issue in the UK right now.
