There was a poll that stated half of Americans are in favor of banning TikTok. While the reasons were likely different depending on the individual and the age, most people that are okay with it being banned view it as a national security threat.

How do you feel about it? I am on the fence. I understand wanting access to certain things considering the app is not from this country but I feel like this should have been done ages ago if they really did feel it was a security threat. It seems the only reason they want it gone now is that propaganda that doesn't benefit them is being spread on the app.

I think the reason so many are in favor of banning it is not because it is a security threat - rather because of the toxic culture it spreads and produces. I feel that the general public doesn't fully understand basic security threats let alone international ones.

@sonzy They didn't want it banned knowing it was an open door to people's information but they only want it banned now because it is being used to criticize their involvement in war on a large scale. I can bet you they are more worried that young adults are becoming extremely anti-war to the point where they would not enter a draft or sign up for military if needed.

It seems the ban of TikTok is still very much up in the air. China is trying to sue over this with their American infrastructure but I doubt that will go anywhere. I don't see it getting banned out right ever.
