I am trying to find something that could help my parents. They struggle with online security and have already been victims. I want them to have a better understanding of what not to click on, download, and how to avoid shady websites. I don't have the time to sit down and walk them through everything.
Does anyone know of some cheap or free online courses for such a thing?
I am in Florida and I know we have Operation SAFE. They offer free online training on common scams, including phishing, tech support scams, and romance scams, specifically designed for older citizens. I think it is wonderful they offer programs like this. I am sure there are more. Check locally first.
I agree about checking locally. If you look for nationwide or countrywide, you are likely going to have to pay. There are a lot of community colleges that offer these sorts of crash courses for people over the age of 50 for free too.
