It would seem that cyber attacks are becoming a growing problem not just for businesses but individuals being targeted. I am curious which types of attacks in particular are the most common and how they can actually be prevented by people and businesses.
Phishing attacks have to be at the top because they are easy for anyone to do and can be spread so widely it is insane. I think everyone has experienced phishing scams as well. Thankfully more people are becoming aware of the signs for them at the very least.
I would agree about phishing being the most common. Second to this I would say social engineering attacks (SEAs). It functions similar to phishing but relies on individual people giving up private data.
DDoS attacks are surprisingly common. Anyone that has had a website with decent traffic has likely experienced one of these. I have experienced two myself but because the people doing them were not knowledge, they were easily stopped and blocked.
