I asked about school and which classes to take for cyber security but now I am wondering about AI. Do you think that AI will change tech jobs in the future to the point where people should start planning ahead? I don't want to be in a position where I get replaced by AI!
There was some report that said 92% of all IT jobs will experience high or moderate transformation due to AI, with the most significant changes affecting mid-level and entry-level technology roles. So basically if you are in the bottom half in terms of IT capabilities, you do run the risk of being replaced. At least that is what I gathered from this report.
I am not sure which aspects will change in terms of replacement. AI seems to be useful in certain sectors for certain services/jobs while being mostly useless in others. Humans will still be needed. I think it is worth getting some basic knowledge or education on AI systems though to be prepared.
It seems like AI is going to go bankrupt before it becomes a new standard. I think it will have its place and will replace some people in certain jobs but it will be minimal replacement.
