Belgium’s cyber security recently states that Europe has "lost the internet" due to their lack of innovation and advancement. Not only that, but digital information moves much slower compared to the US as well.

“We’ve lost the whole cloud. We have lost the internet, let’s be honest,” De Bruycker said. “If I want my information 100 per cent in the EU . . . keep on dreaming,” he added. “You’re setting an objective that is not realistic.”

He is pitching ideas for putting more time and money into cloud commuting but also things like digital identification (which I am not a fan of).

There are easy fixes around this but it is just a matter of them implementing them. I think them focusing more on ground level security is important but I know cloud storage is needed. It sounds like they want to work on things other countries/areas are not though.

I think there plan is to go a different direction in order to have more power in the tech market, which to me is smart. The US and China dominate a lot of the tech industry, Japan is up there as well. Focusing on bettering cloud, digital ID, and things that other nations are slacking on will put them ahead.

@snak30il Sure but again, I am not a fan of this digital ID stuff. The more the government controls of our lives on a local or global scale, the worse off we will be. Evil and self-serving people come and go in power all the time.
